  Very dark, black-hued ruby-red colour with purple hues, a little lighter on the rim. The nose is full and softly rich with ripe dark red berry and savoury plum fruit aromas entwined with earth, tar and cedary notes, unfolding nuances of chocolate. The aromatics are harmoniously packed, and show some robustness. Medium-full bodied, this is fulsome and well-concentrated with mouthfilling flavours of ripe, savoury dark red berry and plum fruit, intermixed with earth, liquorice, chocolate and cedary notes. The fruit is encased by grainy, drying tannins that lend a textured mouthfeel. Low acidity contributes to the rounded, gutsy presence, and the wine leads to a dry, lingering finish of savoury game, earth and cedar. This is a soft, densely packed, fulsome and robust Nero d'Avola with dry, grainy textures. Serve with casseroles and slow-cooked game meat dishes over the next 4+ years.   90% Tempranillo and 5% each Garnacha and Mazuelo, from the Rioja Alta, fermented to 13.5% alc., the wine aged 16 months in American oak barriques. Full, dark ruby-red colour with slight garnet hues on the edge. The bouquet is elegantly proportioned and refined in expression with penetrating and concentrated aromas of dark red berry fruits with sweet and savoury plum notes harmoniously melded with liquorice, Middle Eastern spices, and vanilla and cedary oak elements. Medium-full bodied, the palate features a fine and tightly bound core of sweet and savoury dark red berry and plum fruit lifted by spicy, vanilla-infused oak flavours. The mouthfeel is enlivened by piquant acidity and the wine follows a finely extracted heart and line. This has energy and linearity, and the wine carries to an elegant, firm, lingering, dry finish with spice and oak vanilla nuances. This is an elegantly concentrated, fine and firm Rioja with oak-spiced berry and plum flavours.
