Carrick Winery, a long established producer in Bannockburn, Central Otago, announced recently, a significant change in its distribution strategy for the New Zealand market. After nearly 25 years in partnership, Carrick Winery will be parting ways with its distributor, Eurovintage (formerly known as Eurowine) on November 1st 2024.
“Eurovintage has been a cornerstone in the growth and success of Carrick Winery for a quarter of a century. Their service and dedication have been commendable and has been instrumental in bringing our wines to the New Zealand market” said Cliff Wickman, General Manager at Carrick.
“The decision to undertake a distribution reset has not been taken lightly. Considering the current financial climate and evolving market conditions, Carrick Winery has identified the need to adapt its distribution strategy to better align with its future goals and ensure continued growth and sustainability. We will be taking a more direct route to market utilising the extensive logistics network offered through Bidfood to deliver our wine to our trade customers”

Carrick first planted vines in 1994 specialising in Chardonnay and Pinot Noir with Pinot Gris, Sauvignon Blanc, Riesling and Pinot Blanc making up the balance of the 24 hectares of vines. The vineyard became BioGro certified in 2008 and all wines are handpicked and made onsite. Tony & Ali Cleland purchased the property in January 2021 and take over the proud legacy left by the original owners, Steve and Barbara Green.
