Blind River Awatere Valley Sauvignon Blanc 2014

Having purchased the Blind River Estate from the Feickert family in 2012, Lawson’s Dry Hills has access to top quality Awatere Valley fruit that will give them greater blending options in their own wines, as well as continuing the sub-regional individuality that the Blind River wines offer. There has been a significant tie between the two companies for quite some time, the Blind River wines being made at Lawsons Dry Hills by winemaker Bec Wiffen there, so in that regard, there is just the natural progression of a new vintage! However, coming under the Lawson’s Dry Hills umbrella, there will be progression in a more defined style and no doubt stronger marketing behind the brand. It’s a case of ‘watch this space’! Here, I review the new release 2014 Blind River Sauvignon Blanc.
