Blind River and The Sisters 2013 Sauvignon Blanc and 2012 Pinot Noirs

09-Oct-2013
Blind River Estate was established by the Feickert family who set up their 17.75 ha vineyard in the Awatere Valley in 2002. The vineyard is planted to 15.75 ha of Sauvignon Blanc and 1.95 ha of Pinot Noir. The three daughters, Debbie, Suzie and Wendy, eventually grew to run the business, introducing a second tier called ‘The Sisters’ and expanding markets. In July 2012 the vineyard, stock and label were sold to Lawson’s Dry Hills. Daughter Debbie Sutton continues to run the business as C.E.O., and the wines continue to be made by Bec Wiffen, winemaker at Lawson’s Dry Hills. www.blindriver.co.nz The wines are distributed in New Zealand by Epicurean Wine Brokers. www.epicureanwines.co.nz
