Ballasalla Central Otago Pinot Noir 2011

12-Jul-2013
The Folding Hill Pinot Noirs from Tim Kerruish and his partners have become more recognised of late following show success and strong media attention. The quality of the wines from the Bendigo vineyard is clear, and the hands-on attention to detail with the viticulture and winemaking is paying dividends. Part of the process is the declassifying of barrels into the ‘Ballasalla’ second label, but even this wine is one of quality, reflecting the nature of the site and the overall standards. ‘Ballasalla’ refers to the village on the Isle of Man where Tim grew up. Tim sees the 2011 wines tight in structure and reckons they will show their character after some time. Here is my review of the Ballasalla Pinot Noir 2011. www.foldinghill.co.nz
