Babich Winemaker’s Reserve Red Releases

20-Apr-2012

For Babich, the ‘Classics' range show pure varietal and regional character, and the ‘Irongate' wines the individual and idiosyncratic personality of a special Gimblett Gravels site. The ‘Family Estates Individual Vineyards' range extends the site expression concept to encompass a selection of other special vineyards. However, the Babich ‘Winemaker's Reserve' wines takes another perspective and allows Adam Hazeldine and his team to craft classical wines the way they want, according to the Babich style and philosophies. These wines are made from selected parcels of fruit and by applying distinctive winemaking techniques, they are styles that are the result of human input. As with all Babich wines, any input is sensitive and subtle, and unobtrusive, letting the fruit speak first. Here are reviews of three new ‘Winemaker's Reserve' reds, with a selection of other wines from the Babich portfolio. www.babichwines.co.nz
