Chris Drummond heads the Anchorage Family Estate winegrowing operation with a vineyard next to the mouth of the Motueka River. The company owns over 40 ha of vines and supplements this with contract fruit to make a broad and diverse range of wines. With the arrival of Stefan Heinrich as winemaker in 2013, we have seen a growing consistency and lift in the quality of the wines. Here, I review the 2016 Pinot Gris and 2015 Dolcetto, the latter an Italian variety best known for wines in Piedmont. www.anchoragewines.co.nz
