Marlborough Wine Show 2012 – Trophy Winners

By November 12, 2012No Comments
The trophy results of the second Marlborough Wine Show were announced at a special Marlborough Wine Industry Celebration dinner held on Saturday 10 November. The Champion Wine of the Show went to Lawson’s Dry Hills Pinot Noir 2010, and the Champion 2012 Sauvignon Blanc award going to Saint Clair ‘Wairau Reserve’. The gold medal winners can be seen by clicking here. The show is one of a number of regional wine judging competitions designed to assess and reward the produce of a particular region. Marlborough is, of course New Zealand’s largest region and home to Sauvignon Blanc, the variety the successful performance of which is crucial to the health of this country’s wine industry. The Marlborough Wine Show recognises and highlights the sub-regions, aging ability and alternative styles that may take New Zealand to the future in Sauvignon Blanc. It also focuses on Pinot Noir, the most important red variety. For more information, visit www.marlborough wineshow.co.nz
