Winetopia is billed as New Zealand’s largest wine tasting event. Organised by Lemongrass Productions which conducts high-end food and drinks events, Winetopia has Singapore Airlines as the major sponsor.
The Wintopia festivals are opportunities for wine lovers to meet winemakers and taste from hundreds of wines on offer from the country’s different wine regions accompanied by ‘expertly paired food, and music. The event has been held in Auckland for a couple of years and includes Wellington for the second time this year. The sessions held to date have been sell-outs.

Expect at least 60 wineries participating in Auckland and more than 45 in Wellington. The numbers will grow and be added to the lists as they happen. Click here to see the wineries in Auckland and here to see those participating in Wellington. On hand will be a number of high-profile experts who will be presenting masterclass sessions. Bob Campbell MW and Mike Bennie from Australia will be in Auckland, and Stephen Wong MW and Nick Stock from Australia will be in Wellington. Notable sommeliers will also be present at talks and tasting classes.

Tickets start at $29.00 + Booking fee for entry to one session, 5 wine tasting tokens and a wine glass. Attendees will be able to purchase more tokens for the wine and food pairings. The general admission ticket is $39.00 + Booking Fee, and a Cuisine Premium ticket is $75.00 + Booking Fee which includes a goodie bag, a glass of premium sparkling and a premium glass. The sessions and topics are listed on the website. Some are free to attend and others incur an extra cost of $20.00 + Booking Free.
