Billed as "the coolest little wine festival in the country”, this must offer one of the most comprehensive line-ups of wine and food exhibitors for any festival. Having participated in ‘Forage North Canterbury 2018’ in January, I can vouch for the diversity and quality of the wines and produce emanating from this region. This will be a great opportunity of experiencing what the North Canterbury district offers.

There are 35 wine and beer producers pouring their beverages. These include the well-known ones such as Black Estate, Greystone, Pegasus Bay, Waipara Hills and Brew Moon. But also many less well-known labels such as Harris Estate, Small Theory, Straight 8 Winery and Valmont Wines. There are 25 food exhibitors, including Pic’s Peanut Butter, Maison de Crepes, The Whitebait People, Fritz Wiener, Herbs Gourmet and Kaikoura Cheese. There will be four non-alcoholic suppliers on hand too.

One of the features of the festival is the ‘Talk Tent’ presented by Lincoln University hosting discussions by duos of wine producers with chefs and food producers. There will be plenty of family entertainment and live music, this year featuring ‘The Eastern’.
