Turanga Creek ‘Par Nature’ Auckland Viognier 2014

Viognier from New Zealand – Northland & Auckland
Review Date - 06-Oct-2015

17.5+/20

Fruit from the Whitford vineyard, hand-picked and WBP, fermented in stainless-steel to 13.8% alc. and <2.0 g/L RS, the wine undergoing batonnage. Full, even straw-yellow colour with light golden hues. The nose is fresh and steely with tightly bound aromas of exotic white florals and apricots interwoven with chalky, minerally notes. The core of florals unfolds saline elements in the glass. Dry to taste and medium-full bodied, the palate features an elegantly concentrated core of exotic white florals and apricots. This has fine phenolic textures and a slippery flow, suggesting an unctuous mouthfeel. The wine has drive and underlying alcoholic power carrying the palate to an elegant, rounded finish with restrained musk and apricot notes. This is an elegant, tight and dry Viognier with florals, apricots and musk on a slippery, rounded palate. Match with Middle Easterm and Asian fare over the next 3-4 years. Certified BioGro organic. 17.5+/20 Oct 2015 RRP $27.00
