Contract fruit from the Ormond sub-region, fermented to 12.5% alc. the wine aged in seasoned French oak with 8 months on lees and 14% MLF. Brilliant straw-yellow colour with slight golden hues, lighter on rim. This has a softly full and gentle bouquet with subtle, ripe citrus fruits and yellow stonefruit aromas, along with some nutty oak and savoury, spicy interest. Medium-light bodied, light but positive savoury citrus fruit flavours combine with buttery notes and hints of nutty oak on a soft-textured and evenly presented palate. This is up-front and very accessible, and gently presented with easy-flowing flavours. Light, nutty nuances complete the wine. This is a light-weighted Chardonnay with soft and creamy citrus and nutty flavours that can be enjoyed immediately and over the next 2-3 years. Serve with first courses. 16.5-/20 Feb 2013 RRP $19.95
