Both Gisborne and Hawke's Bay have proven suitable regions for top flight Viognier. It may be the star variety for the Voyseys. This was fermented with wild yeasts to 14.7% alc. and aged 16 months in seasoned oak, 50% undergoing MLF. Bright, light straw yellow with golden hues. Very fresh, this has a steely-edged nose with fine floral lift, perfumes, excellent intensity and depth. Dry on palate with 1.9 g/L rs, this combines an elegance of style with real richness and lusciousness of exotic apricotty fruit, the alcohol and acidity providing excellent proportion and depth.
