Fruit from the Patutahi district tank-fermented to 14.2%
alc. and dryness, the wine given light oak treatment. Bright, full straw-yellow colour with slight
golden hues. This is light and tightly
bound on bouquet with firm and straightforward aromas of yellow stonefruits
with a steely, flinty note. Dry and
medium-full bodied, flavours of white stonefruits combine with subtle herb elements
forming a good core with sweet oak and nutty elements adding detail. The palate line features fresh acid drive
with underlying grainy textures, and some alcohol power noticeable. The flavours lead to a dry, nutty,
oak-nuanced, moderately sustained finish.
This is a steely, fresh Chardonnay with a fulsome mouthfeel and flavours
of stonefruits and nuts. Match with
roasted and grilled paltry and pork dishes over the next 3+ years. 16.5/20
