Clos de Ste Anne ‘Naboth's Vineyard' Pinot Noir 2010

Pinot Noir from New Zealand – Gisborne
Review Date - 17-Apr-2012

18/20

A mixture of older and modern clones from the original ‘Naboth's Vineyard' and ‘La Cote', the fruit fully destemmed and fermented to 13.5% alc., the wine spending one lunar cycle on skins before barrique maturation. Certified Organic and Biodynamic grapes. Pale garnet-red colour with a light rim. Elegant, ethereal and penetrating red berry fruit and lifted red floral aromas subtly build to show a tight concentrated presence on bouquet. Medium-bodied, the palate is elegantly proportioned with delicate flavours of soft red berry fruits and fragrant red florals, the brightness and sweetness enhanced by fine lacy acidity. The tannin extraction is very fine and underlines the palate providing excellent refined structure and line, leading to a lifted and lush, strawberry fruited and dried herb infused finish. This is a beautifully delicate and ethereal Pinot Noir with freshness that builds in depth and texture. Match with firm-flesh seafood, and poultry over the next 5-7+ years. 18.0/20 Apr 2012 RRP $55.00
