Stone Bridge Gisborne Chardonnay 2012
Chardonnay from New Zealand – Gisborne

17.5/20
Full, moderately deep, light golden yellow colour. The bouquet is full and broad with rich,
savoury stonefruit and citrus fruit aromas, revealing layers of tropical
fruits, creamy, buttery oak and toasted nut notes. Medium-full bodied, the palate is soft, broad
open and mouthfilling with flavours of savoury tropical and citrus fruits
well-integrated with nutty oak, buttery barrel-ferment and creamy MLF
notes. This is up-front, and
smooth-flowing, the palate underlined by lacy acidity leading to a very long,
lingering, buttery finish. This is a
full, broad and traditionally styled Chardonnay with creamy and buttery
tropical fruit flavours. Serve with
roast pork over the next 4 years. Clone
548 fruit fully barrel-fermented on solids to 13.2% alc., the wine aged 14
months in 75% French and 25% American oak, with 30% new French, and 25% MLF. 17.5/20
