Stone Bridge Gisborne Gewurztraminer 2013
Gewurztraminer from New Zealand – Gisborne
Review Date - 27-Mar-2014

17/20
Bright, even straw-yellow colour, lighter edged. This has a tight nose with interwoven
high-toned aromas of root ringer, lychees and rose-petal florals, along with
savoury stonefruit kernels. Off-dry to
taste, the palate is concentrated with a firm amalgam of ginger, exotic florals
and savoury stonefruit and musk flavours.
Some alcohol power provides body and drive, the mouthfeel showing some
oiliness and roundness to the core.
Moderate acidity allows the palate to open out, leading to a generous
and warm, lingering finish. This is a
tight and concentrated off-dry Gewurztraminer with an amalgam of ginger and
savoury fruit flavours and some oiliness.
Match with Mediterranean and Middle Eastern cuisine over the next 3+
years. Fruit WBP and cool-fermented in
stainless-steel to 13.6% alc. and 7.0 g/L RS.
17.0/20 Mar 2014 RRP $25.00
