Brilliant, even golden-yellow colour, lighter on edge. The bouquet is soft, full and broad, with up-front
aromas of ripe yellow stonefruits, tropical fruits and musk entwined with Turkish
Delight and ginger. Medium-dry to taste
and medium-bodied, this has mouthfilling flavours of ripe tropical fruits,
ginger, spices and musk. There are rich
and luscious savoury honey elements, enlivened by fresh, bright acidity. While open and accessible, there is an
underlying solidness that carries the flavours to a long, fruit-driven
finish. This is an up-front and
flavoursome savoury-spicy medium-dry Gewurztraminer with some richness and good
freshness. Serve with Middle Eastern and
Asian fare over the next 3 years. Fruit
from two sites in the Patutahi district of Gisborne, cool-fermented to 12.8%
alc. and 18 g/L rs. 220 dozen made. 17.5-/20
