The Landing Bay of Islands Pinot Gris 2017
Pinot Gris from New Zealand – Northland & Auckland
Review Date - 30-Oct-2017

18+/20
Bright, even straw-yellow colour with a touch of blush,
lighter on the edge. The nose is softly
full and voluminous with good depth of ripe white and yellow stonefruits along
with soft, fragrant florals and honeysuckle.
Off-dry to taste and medium-bodied, the palate has rich, up-front
flavours of ripe yellow stonefruits and exotic florals, with honied elements. The flavours are mouthfilling and moderately
deep, and flow smoothly along a soft-textured line balanced by fresh
acidity. The flavours carry to a long,
lingering, dry-textural finish showing stonefruits and honey. This is a softly full and moderately deep
off-dry Pinot Gris with stonefruit, floral and honied flavours, and a soft,
textural palate. Serve with Asian and
Middle Eastern cuisine over the next 3+ years. First crop Pinot Gris fruit from ‘The Landing’
vineyard, fermented to 11.5% alc. and 7 g/L RS.
