Ruby-red colour with some depth and light purple hues, paler on the rim. The nose is somewhat shy and retrained initially, with finely packed, taut aromas of blackberry fruit and subtle notes of dark raspberries and black pepper, unfolding nuances of earth and black minerals. Medium-bodied, the palate is restrained in expression, but shows moderately concentrated flavours of savoury blackberry fruit entwined with piquant spice notes along with black pepper and earth. The fruit is guided by fine-grained tannin structure and grip, providing the palate with good presence and line. The acidity is balanced and integrated. The wine unfolds layers of spice and pepper as it flows to a lingering finish. This is a moderately concentrated Syrah, initially taut and shy, but unfolds savoury black fruits with spice and pepper, and a grainy textured palate.
