Postage Stamp ‘Genevieve’ ‘View East Vineyard’ Waiheke Island Rosé 2016
Rose from New Zealand – Northland & Auckland

17.5+/20
Bright candy-floss pink with slight purple hues and some depth, lighter
on the rim. The nose is fresh with
bright and pure aromas of cherries and strawberries and cream along with subtle
herb nuances at the core. Lifted red
florals and confectionary emerge, unfolding mouthwatering mineral
elements. Dry to taste and
medium-bodied, the palate has juicy, elegantly mouthfilling flavours of
cherries and strawberries entwined with nuances of herbs, florals,
confectionary and minerals. The palate
is lively with a fine-textured phenolic thread guiding the flavours with brisk
acidity, providing a dry, thirst-quenching mouthfeel, leading to a long, firm
finish. This is a refreshing and lively,
elegantly dry rosé with
cherry and strawberry flavours along with florals and soft confectionary notes
on a mouthwatering palate. Serve as an
aperitif, with canapes and tapas over the next 2 years. 100% Syrah, Chave clone, given 4 hours skin
contact and fermented in stainless-steel to 12.7% alc. and 4 g/L RS, the wine
aged 3 months on lees. 17.5+/20 Mar 2017
