Very
dark, black-hued red with purple hues on the rim. The nose is elegantly concentrated and
tightly bound with aromas of spicy and savoury dark red berry fruits along with
subtle sweet oak element, unfolding spicy perfumes, a hint of pepper, herbs and
dark raspberries. Medium-full bodied and
finely proportioned, flavours od spicy and savoury, sweet red berry fruits and
oak feature on the palate and are framed by fine, grainy tannin structure, and
enlivened by soft acid freshness. This
has a firm body and line. Flavours of
dark raspberries show and the oaking is subtle.
The grip carries the wine to a long finish of black and red fruits with
spicy nuances. This is an elegant,
firmly framed Tempranillo with savoury and spicy red fruits. Match with roasted and grilled red meat
dishes over the next 5-6+ years. Fruit
from the ‘Obsidian’ vineyard, vines 8 y.o., fermented to 13.0% alc., the wine
aged 10 months in 15% new American oak.
