The wines across the board have been growing in stature and quality, with notable top awards for a number of the wines. Andrew Florance is the vineyard manager and Frank Manifold is the winemaker. Wild River Waipara Valley Sauvignon Blanc 2016

Sauvignon Blanc from New Zealand – Canterbury & Waipara

17/20
Brilliant, light straw-yellow colour, slightly paler on the rim. The nose is full with fresh, pungent passionfruit aromas along with notes of tropical fruits, fresh herbs and floral elements, lifted by subtle fermentation esters. The aromatics are voluminous, showing good depth. Dry to taste and medium-bodied, the palate has rich and bright, juicy flavours of ripe passionfruit and notes of tropical fruits, herbs and green stonefruits. The palate is enlivened by bright acidity and the fruit underlined by fine, grainy phenolic textures that carry the wine to a lingering, dry finish of passionfruit. This is a bright, passionfruity Sauvignon Blanc with juicy flavours, fresh acidity and a textured line. Serve with seafood, salads and vegetables over the next 2 years. Fruit from the ‘Limeloader’ vineyard, cool-fermented in stainless-steel to 13.0% alc. and 4 g/l RS. 17.0/20 Apr 2017 RRP $11.95
