Supper Club Wine

29 June,2012
Supper Club is the wine label of Alastair Picton-Warlow, a Christchurch based wine distributor. The wines are designed for everyday drinking and the name harks back to the Supper Clubs that Alastair's father used to visit in London in the late 1940s. The images of dining, drinking and dancing inspired the making of the wines and the design of the label. Alastair has had strong sales in the South Island and is beginning to grow business in Auckland. The wine is available through New World and the Liquorland group. www.supperclubwines.com

Supper Club Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc 2011

Sauvignon Blanc from New Zealand – Marlborough

16/20

Brilliant, pale straw-yellow with pale lemon-gold hues to the colour. The nose is light and elegant with delicate aromas of gooseberries, capsicums and limes, cleanly expressed with a steeliness. Dry to taste, subtle flavours of gooseberries, passionfruit and hints of exotic tropical form a good core with a little lusciousness through the palate line. The flavours a gently mouthfilling and have presence. The acidity is discreet and leads to a dry, moderately long finish with gooseberry fruit notes. This is an elegant, soft and dry Sauvignon Blanc to serve as an aperitif or with seafood, vegetables and salads over the next 18 months to 2 years. Fruit from the Rapaura and Dillon's Point regions, fermented to 13.0% alc. Made by Sam Rose. 16.0/20 Jun 2012 RRP $14.99
